Free Online Activities for Kids
This year has definitely taken a toll on us and it's only March! With everything going on with COVID-19 all we can do is take our precautions and try to be safe and responsible. That being said, many school districts throughout the country have decided to suspend classes due to COVID-19 and honestly I'm both glad and worried about this.
My son is currently in PreK and has speech and developmental therapy at school during the school day and I'm sad that he will not be able to get his sessions. Fortunately, he has great teachers and therapists that send resources and activities he can use at home.
There's is also so much one can do and if you're like me you like to keep you little one occupied. That's why I've been searching around to try and find free websites that offer resources and activities that kids can do while they're at home. You can switch up between activities because if I know something it's that a five year old gets bored fast!
So here are a few of my favorite places where you can find activities for you little ones while they're off from school.
1. Scholastic
Scholastic offers a daily activity for grades PreK- 6+. You have up to four different learning activities that al circle around a particular theme from a book or video. Currently they have up to five days of activities and will be loading more as days progress.
PBS is always awesome for kids! The PBS Kids website is full of awesome games and printables that focus on emblematic PBS Kids characters like Daniel Tiger, Elmo, Arthur and Curious George. The PBS parents section of the website also offers lots on resources and activities that you can do with your little ones. Here you can choose a topic and age and find specific activities to work with, such as math activities for four year olds and so many more.

3. National Geographic Kids
If you little one loves animals and nature then this is the place for them. The website is full of videos, articles, quizzes and so much more.
This Smithsonian website has tons of topics for you and your little one to learn and discover from social science, art and science. You can also create collections of your resources and share them with others.
Use these site to the fullest, you never know what new things you might learn along your little one. We gotta use this time to the fullest and enjoy a little learning and a little fun with our little one!
